Shirataki pasta in the shape of thin vermicelli threads, characteristic of Italian and increasingly Oriental cuisine.

Vermicelli is an Italian pasta with a very fine diameter. The name comes from the Italian word "verme", which means worm, and refers to the thin, threadlike shapes of this pasta, which resemble... worms. Vermicelli is a popular ingredient in Italian and Asian cuisine, where it is used in soups, salads, or as an addition to meat and fish.

By replacing ordinary pasta or rice with shirataki noodles in one dish, you save about 300kcal - it's the perfect way to reduce calories, and additionally, shirataki noodles rich in fiber satiate for a long time - fiber swells in the stomach and thus reduces appetite. This calorie saving can translate to a weight loss of approximately 0.5 kg per week (depending on body weight and calorie intake) without making any other changes to your diet.

Konjac pasta can be combined with any sauces, it goes well with both hot and cold dishes.

The pasta is in a package filled with a translucent liquid that is a solution of calcium hydroxide - it is not a preservative, but a stabilizer, thanks to which the pasta retains its shape. After opening the package, you can smell the characteristic smell of starch, this smell disappears completely after pouring the pasta with running water before preparation.

How to use shirataki noodles:

  1. drain the konjac noodles
  2. pour the pasta with cold water, pour cold water
  3. add to a sauce, meat or other dish (use wherever you usually use 'normal' pasta) at the very end of cooking, so that the pasta has the desired temperature - you do not need to cook it
