We admit it: our first encounter with the taste of Hokkaido Milk was fueled by autumn moods and the search for pumpkin-flavored conditioner or pumpkin pie. And here's a surprise:
The taste of Hokkaido Milk has nothing to do with pumpkin!
Hokkaido is famous not only for the cultivation of a small Hokkaido pumpkin (also called the Uchiki Kuri pumpkin), but above all for its extraordinary milk and dairy products of the highest quality. Despite the fact that Japan is an expensive country in itself, Hokkaido milk from cows there is considered a luxury product and is high in price even by Japanese standards, and despite its high price, Hokkaido milk accounts for 50% of total milk sales in the entire Japanese market !! Grazed in open spaces, on green hills surrounded by the optimal climate of the island, stress-free cows that their caretakers treat with care as if it were their own children, give milk with unusual creaminess, valued for its taste not only in Japan, but also in distant places corners of the world - Hokkaido Milk is exported, among others to Australia, Singapore or Canada. It is the famous Hokkaido Milk that makes such baked goods as fluffy, sweet Hokkaido Milk Bread, or Hokkaido Milk Beer Bilk (Bilk = Beer + Milk), a sweet combination of beer and 30% milk.
