Finally. Truly, finally. These are not “Oreo-inspired cookies,” they are not “similar in appearance,” they are not a compromise with an “_” added – these are real Oreos… just sugar-free. For many people, this is a somewhat symbolic moment, because until now there were no real sugar-free Oreos…
Though that's not entirely true – a fun fact, original sugar-free Oreos once existed, about 10 years ago, and we even imported them from the USA to Poland for Guiltfree. But the manufacturer withdrew them!! – out of fear that the popularity of the sugar-free version would harm sales of the sugary version. Well, they finally came to their senses :)
That's why today, sugar-free Oreos are back and doing exactly what is expected of them: they taste like Oreos, not a substitute.
The scent immediately transports you to that well-known world – intense cocoa, slightly dry, with a characteristic cookie note that combines with the delicate, vanilla sweetness of the cream. It's an aroma you know by heart, yet it surprises you, because it's not accompanied by a heavy, sugary "stickiness." It's clean, dessert-like, and very authentic.
The texture is exactly what you expect from a classic Oreo. Two thin, crisp cocoa cookies gently crack under the pressure of your teeth, creating that characteristic "snap," and between them is a smooth, slightly creamy center that pleasantly contrasts with their texture. The whole is perfectly balanced – neither too dry nor too soft. It's the same ritual: separating, nibbling the cream, dipping in coffee or milk – everything works as it should.
The taste is pure nostalgia, but with a modern twist. The cocoa is distinct, slightly bitter, the cream brings a pleasant, vanilla sweetness, and the whole creates that characteristic contrast that made Oreo an icon. The difference is that there's no added sugar – the sweetness comes from well-chosen sweeteners that allow the flavor profile to be maintained without the excess of classic sugars.
In terms of nutritional value, it's still a dessert, but definitely more thought out. The lack of sugar, while using polyols, means the product has a lower impact on glucose levels than classic cookies of this type. The addition of fiber (8.8g per 100g) also contributes to greater satiety and more stable energy release. One cookie is only about 45 kcal, which allows for easy portion control and integration into a diet without feeling excessive.
