Batom, Organic Blue Spirulina 15g

Blue Spirulina is a dehydrated powder consisting solely of Arthrospira platensis spirulina extract. It owes its magical cobalt color to the high content of phycocyanin, a natural blue dye. However, in some regions of the world it was used many centuries ago. The peoples of Mesoamerica (e.g. Aztecs) used it even before the arrival of Europeans. And the African Kanembu tribe obtained algae from nearby Lake Chad and used them for culinary purposes. In a word, the present has dug up the past and uses it in handfuls. Why?

Spirulina is called a superfood and we have to admit that it deserved this title. It boasts a high content of protein, amino acids and many vitamins and minerals. It lowers blood pressure, prevents atherosclerosis, removes heavy metals from the body and supports immunity.

Until recently, spirulina could be found more often in pet stores than in grocery stores. Green tablets or flakes with a high content of algae are a food desired by aquarists. Herbivorous fish eat nutritional tabs with pleasure, thanks to which their digestive system works as it should, they reproduce more willingly and color beautifully. Eventually, we realized that such a vegan snack could also have many benefits for humans, so spirulina packets began to storm grocery stores. :)

Most often we can find green spirulina, which has a slightly fishy aftertaste. This is both a disadvantage and an advantage, because it is rather poorly suited for enriching fruit cocktails, but it works great in savory dishes. Today, for a change, we would like to offer you Batom, Ecological Blue Spirulina 15g, which consists only of Arthrospira platensis extract.
