GymBeam Lyophilized Cranberries are completely freeze-dried round cranberry balls - it's 100% fruit, 100% nutritional value and 100% taste! Traditionally dried cranberries (those that are wrinkled and resemble raisins) available in supermarkets in the dried fruits and nuts section are a very caloric sweet snack - they are sugared (either with white sugar or disguised sugar described as apple / grape juice concentrate), and soaked in oil sunflower seeds to make them shine beautifully - these two additions of low-calorie, valuable fruit make a low-value snack with a sugar content equal to hard candy. Freeze-dried cranberries have an overwhelming advantage over them!

Freeze-drying is a process as a result of which water is removed from the fruit in a vacuum, and only the essence remains, i.e. vitamins, trace elements and taste! What is the difference between lyophilization and drying? Drying leaves more water in the fruit, which makes them less durable and not resistant to long-term storage. This is freeze drying of frozen substances - the frozen product is dried in such a way that the liquid state is omitted. So the fruit by depriving it of water immediately becomes dry and crunchy!

Lyophilization is simply a process of preserving food that allows you to retain maximum nutrients, flavor and aroma while eliminating unnecessary weight and stopping the growth of microorganisms. How did you come to that? The first attempts at such drying were made at the end of the 19th century, but only in the 1930s did the world pay attention to this process. The Second World War in particular contributed to the development of freeze-drying (a blessing in disguise). In this unusual way, blood plasma and penicillin could be transported to help the wounded. Later, freeze-drying was used to create food rations for soldiers and astronauts. Over time, mountain climbers and sailors began to use these light and compact meals, and now we can enjoy them too.

The characteristic taste of cranberry is tart and sour, and in the freeze-dried form it is pleasantly crunchy. It is suitable as a nice addition to the dishes that we prepare for work, school for a trip and those that we prepare for lunch and dinner. We can add it to drinks, tea infusions.

Cranberry is a valuable source of proanthocyanidins, chemical compounds that are designed to protect our urinary system against bacteria. They have anti-inflammatory properties that protect us, but also speed up healing during infection and inflammation. It is perfect for pregnant women to protect this system from unwanted bacteria at this time.

Numerous antioxidants contained in this fruit protect us from oxidative stress, which destroys our cells, causing the production of free radicals, and this can promote the formation of cancer. Antioxidants also have an effect on our skin, hair and nails, slowing down the aging process of cells.

In cranberries we find large amounts of Vitamin C, B, A, which perfectly support our immune system. It is called a natural antibiotic because the combination of vitamins and antibacterial activity stimulates the immune system to work better and stronger defense against threats. Flavonoids contained in cranberries thin the blood and dilate blood vessels, protecting our body against blood clots, heart attack and stroke. They lower the level of 'bad' cholesterol, thus preventing atherosclerosis.

Antibacterial and antifungal properties support our digestive system, preventing bacteria from settling on its walls, preventing and supporting the treatment of diseases related to this system, e.g. stomach ulcers. Cranberry helps to remove toxins from the body, has good detoxifying properties, and regulates metabolism. For this purpose, it is also worth drinking cranberry juice. Cranberry has an additional advantage, it is less caloric than dried, so we can reach for it more often.
