Gluten-free flour mix for baking tortillas, and more!

Tortilla Baking Mix by BiTechUSA is a gluten-free, vegan flour mixture from which you can bake a tortilla, and if Greek cuisine is closer to your taste, you can also make pita, the basis for gyros.

The basis of the mixture is rice flour, sunflower seed flour and corn starch, and in order to increase the dietary fiber content, we added bamboo fiber and powdered plantain husks to the mixture. The added extract of fenugreek seeds and oregano add a spicy flavor to the finished tortilla or pita.

For baking, in addition to the flour mixture, you will only need some yeast, oil and lukewarm water. Knead the dough thoroughly, leave it to rise and you can bake it! Prepare the filling and additions to your liking, and if you want a little extra flavor, top it all off with one of Zero Sauce!

Net weight: 600g (to prepare 8 pitas or 16 tortillas)

Ingredients: Rice flour, sunflower seed meal, corn starch, bamboo fiber, plantain husk powder (from Plantago ovata seeds), food salt, anti-caking agent (magnesium salts and fatty acids), fenugreek seed extract (Trigonella foenum-graecum) , oregano.

A method of preparing:

Preparation of the dough: Measure 75 g of the mixture into a bowl, add 3 g of powdered yeast and mix well. Finally, add 62 g of lukewarm water and 7 g of oil and knead the dough thoroughly. Leave the dough in a warm place (~27-30 C°) covered to rise, and then knead it again on a floured board.

Preparation of one pita: Roll out the dough to a diameter of 12.5 cm and a thickness of 1 cm. Bake in an oven preheated to 230 degrees, one side for 6-8 minutes and the other side for 2-3 minutes.

Preparation of two tortillas: Roll out the dough to a diameter of 24 cm and a thickness of 2-3 mm. Bake the pita for 2-3 minutes in a hot pan. Once baked, consume within a day.
